Rutland, Vermont

Vermont's second largest city, Rutland really started to grow late in the 19th century thanks to the railroads and its location at the heart of the state's rich marble zone... it was once even known as "the marble city." It continues to benefit from location in many ways. To the east lies the the expanse of Killington-Pico and the money (from skiing, etc.) that the mountains generate every year. Rutland also rests at the junction of Routes 7 and 4, making it the commercial and travel center of the central part of Vermont.

The city features a robust shopping district and any number of dining/lodging options either within Rutland or in one of the surrounding towns, especially Killington. In addition to its large industrial base, Rutland features attractions like the Norman Rockwell Museum and events such as the agriculturally-based Vermont State Fair (Sept.).

Baker's Bed & Breakfast - Once known as "the Rutland tea house," our c.1826 brick colonial home offers a tranquil setting for the changes of the seasons.

Best Western - On our 12 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, you'll find tennis courts, lovely vistas and our private heated pool.

Harvest Moon Bed & Breakfast - Spend the night in an 1835 Vermont farmhouse and step back in time. Our family owned Bed and Breakfast is furnished with antiques throughout inviting calm country comfort.

The Inn at Rutland - This Vermont Inn, voted Best Bed & Breakfast in the Greater Rutland area is a perfect place to stay for people skiing at Killington, hiking the Green Mountains of Vermont or enjoying the Fall Foliage.
