Stowe Tour de Snow

Title: Stowe Tour de Snow
Location: Stowe, Vermont
Date: 2012-01-15

Description: The Stowe Tour de Snow is designed to showcase the best of what Stowe has to offer winter visitors, locals and neighbors alike. The idea is both simple and genius. Starting at the top of the Stowe Recreation Path (or at the halfway point in the Farmer’s Market field adjacent to the Red Barn Shops), families and friends ski, walk, snowshoe or run along the path and participate in fun-filled activities grouped into stations each sponsored, organized, and staffed by local and area businesses and organizations.

The seven large stations include a combination of warm up exercises, paintball target shooting, yoga intro sessions, Nordic terrain park, Learn to ski and snowshoe clinic, kick-sled races, hockey puck shooting, Hammersled-pulling contest, slalom course competition, disc golf, food and drinks, environmentally friendly arts&crafts, costume relays, and other games and contests on skis and snowshoes. The Stowe Tour de Snow will finish at the heart of Stowe Village where members of Stowe Vibrancy will help host festivities, prizes, raffles and contests for all.

The Stowe Tour de Snow is a guaranteed success for families and individuals eager to try new snow experiences and enjoy a full day of activities on the Stowe Rec Path. All proceeds from the event contribute to the enhancement of the winter use of the Stowe Rec Path and the new S.K.I.S. (Skiing Kids in Schools) program.
