Created by a damming of the Lamoille River to the south, Arrowhead
Mountain Lake offers some interesting contrasts. To the south, it feels
much more like a river, with light development on the banks and thick
woods. To the north, it gets much more marshy, with islands and great
paddling/bird watching opportunities. Heron, kingfishers and ospreys
all call this home (the latter have been nesting here since 1998).
Located just to the east of Burlington in Georgia/Milton.
From I-89, exit 18, take Route 7 south to Route 104A. Turn left
onto 104A, go 1.6 miles. Access is on the right. You can find another
carry-in boat access (with less parking) across the Lamoille River
This lake gets much marshier as the season wears on. By the end
of it, you'll be paddling through planty channels.
For those who like to fish, large and smallmouth bass and northern
pike are largely caught.
