Virtual Vermonter - Campgrounds - Branbury State Park

 

Branbury State Park

Description: Located on the eastern shores of Lake Dunmore, Branbury State Park features 22 tent sites and 6 lean-tos in a heavily wooded area and an additional 17 tent sites located on grass near the beach. Branbury State Park is another hiking mecca, featuring scenic views, waterfalls, caves, streams and more. Perks here include boat rentals, a nature museum, concession stand and a playground. In all, the park is made up of 69 acres.

Nearby attractions include the Chimney Point Historic Site, Hubbarton Battlefield, Vermont Marble Museum, Wilson Castle and the Shelburne Museum.

Open/Close Dates: Mid May - October 15

Cost: $16-23 (2004)

Directions: From Middlebury, go 7 miles south on U.S. Route 7, then 4 miles south on Highway 53.
