Northern Champlain Valley Camping
1)Brookside Campground - Brookside Campground is made up of 35 grassy sites in all for tents and campers. The camping area features a playground, horseshoes, volleyball, fishing and a number of area attractions, including two golf courses. Enosburg.
2)Burlington's North Beach Campground - A campground right in Burlington? You betcha. Perched on the shores of Lake Champlain, Burlington's North Beach Campground features 67 tent sites and 69 RV and trailer sites on 45 acres of woods and beach. Burlington.
3)Burton Island State Park - There are 17 tent sites and 26 lean-to sites plus 15 boat moorings and a 100-slip marina with dockside electricity, fuel service, and a marine holding-tank pumpout facility. This, with ferry service to the island (no vehicles) from Kill Kare, makes Burton Island one of the most unique parks in Vermont. St. Albans.
4)Homestead Campground - 150 sites in all, most of which have water, electric, free cable TV and seasonal phone hookups. Activities here include two swimming pools, a rec hall, arcade, horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball and table tennis. They also feature a number of weekend activities, from Bingo and crafts to wagon rides. A bumper boat fun park, go-carts and mini-golf are right next door. Milton.
5)Lake Carmi State Park - There are 140 tent/trailer sites, 35 lean-to sites, and 2 cabins that make this the state's largest campground. Rest rooms have running water and hot showers($). There is a trailer dump station but no hookups. Most sites are large enough to accommodate self-contained RVs. There are swimming beaches in both camp areas. There is also a day use beach with concession area, rest rooms, and rental boats. Enosburg.
6)Lakewood Campground - There are 281 sites here in all, as well as rental cabins. Among the perks: swimming in the pool or the lake, fishing, boating, tennis, horseshoes, shuffleboard, a playground and rec. hall. They also sponsor organized weekend activities. Swanton.
7)Lone Pine Campsites - Lone Pines Campsites features 265 sites and a variety of fun "stuff," including two pools, a rec. hall, video game room, mini-golf, basketball, horseshoe pits, tennis, firetruck rides, etc. Colchester.
8)Malletts Bay Campground - Malletts Bay Campground features 119 sites (77 WES, 32 WE), a game room, pool, beach and boat access and nearby tennis courts. Colchester.
9)Maple Grove Campground - Located within 9 miles of Lake Champlain (and nearby state boat launches), Maple Grove Campground offers 26 sites, most with water and electricity. Fairfax.
10)Mill Pond Campground - Mill Pond Campground offers 65 sites in all, as well as camper rentals. Activities here include a playground, pool, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball, baseball, badminton, arcade, lounge, fishing and boating. Franklin.
11)Underhill State Park - The upper camp area, about 3/4 of a mile above the ranger station, has 9 lean-to sites and is reserved for organized group use. In the lower camp area, around the ranger station, are 11 tent sites and 6 lean-to sites. There are cold water and flush toilets in the rest rooms, but no showers. Underhill.
12)Woods Island State Park - By permit only on designated sites. Reservations (2-night minimum) are handled through Burton Island State Park. Maximum eight (8) persons per site. St. Albans.
