Vermont Events - September

Here we cover many of the primary festivals, fairs, concerts and other events that occur in Vermont throughout the year. Below are some of the state's main events for the month of September:

Barre Granite Festival - Offers a number of activities and demonstrations such as rock splitting, letter carving, hand drafting, stone carving and etching. Think everything granite with food and entertainment thrown in and you've summed up this great festival.

Champlain Valley Fair - Vermont's premier fair attraction, featuring a number of musical acts, attractions, exhibitions, agricultural stuff... the list goes on and on.

The Great Vermont Corn Maze - "Explore the Great Maze by day and enjoy 360 degrees of panoramic views. Or double the challenge, and experience a STARLIGHT MAZE on select weekends in August and September."

Hildene Foliage Art and Craft Festival - Located at Hildene Meadows in Manchester, this annual festival features some 180 exhibitors.

Stowe Oktoberfest - "Stowe's Jackson Ice Arena will be transformed into a Bavarian village for this annual celebration of harvests and fall foliage. From oompah bands to authentic German foods to freshly brewed Vermont beers to pumpkin painting and puppet theatre -- there's something for every "villager" -- young and old."

Tunbridge World's Fair - Old fashioned agricultural fair in rural setting, working antique displays, horse, pony & oxen pulling, horse racing, cattle & horse shows, junior exhibits, floral & 4-H exhibits, contra dancing, gymkhana, free shows, midway. Located in Tunbridge, Vermont.

Vermont Arts & Fine Craft Festival - "325 outstanding artists from 18 states and Canada joined us last summer. For 2004,the Festival will be a 3 day, Labor Day Weekend, indoor/outdoor celebration of arts, fine crafts and specialty foods in the heart of Vermont's finest four-season resort, Stratton Mountain."

Vermont Shepherd Cheese Cave Tour and Tasting - The cheese cave is where Vermont Shepherd ages their cheeses, and they only show it about four times a year, so you should really try to hit it if you're in the area. They also run a farm stand, where you can purchase all their award-winning cheeses.

The Vermont State Fair - Agricultural events including horse & cattle shows, farm museum, exhibits, crafts, 4-H building & events, country & western shows, demo derby, horse & ox pulling, tractor pulls, carnival, ethnic foods, demonstrations, maple sugar house. Located on Route 7 in Rutland.
