Smugglers' Notch got its name for the caves and
trail through it which made easier the lives of smugglers from
the British in the early 1800's to Prohibition-era bootleggers.
It now specialized in family vacations, offering a number of different
vacation packages on its three mountains (Morse, Sterling, Madonna).
The whole "family" theme extends to summer as well,
with a variety of programs targeted to children and entire families.
